For my absence, that is. Had a visitor for the past week, ( ) 21st birthday came and went, and now its back to harsh life and reality. Nothing to see here, move along, move along.
God I swear it's that mindset that is ripping up our society and traditions, it's terrible really. I for one think your art is worth much more than what you sell it for!
It was actually Rilvor that made me aware of why this mindset is widespread now, is because everyone is so used to getting everything CHEAP, and INSTANT. Immediate gratification is the norm, and it doesn't matter if its unique if its cheap. I mean, I can see how that is, especially with this recession going on, but its unrealistic to expect that sort of thing from something unique, one-of-a-kind, and handmade.
The few commissions I've had so far I've had the commissioner's happiness in mind. I've tried to make it so they get it quickly and reasonably, but I'd rather get the details and the quality down before I decide to give it to them. They pay good money for my time and effort, why should I cut corners?
Yeah, maybe my work is worth a lot more, at least some things, like that Tenebra drawing I finished yesterday. I can only go so low as far as price goes though, and apparently my work isn't even worth that if it has a picture of some furry's personal character.

That's fucking bullshit. People don't understand the work that goes into creating something new and original. They would much rather have something that is recognizable, marketable and costs 150% of what it really takes to make it.
Plus you have to think about the kind of people that REALLY devout a lot of time to online forum groups and such.... you know the kind I'm talking bout.
Hey, the comments they said are no skin off my back anyway. Like my dreams of being an artist are going to be squelched by a troll (and a rather bad one, from what I've noticed) on the internet.
